Electronic work instruction system
Implement e-WI by defining which steps require confirmation before a station label can print: survey changeover frequency and illustrated version control, then pilot critical-step confirmation followed by LuckDesign/LuckNext print. Template approval remains a separate product capability.

01 // Pre-implementation assessment
Before cutover: paper SOP on the wrong page—labels already print
Common blockers before go-live
- Surveys don’t split critical vs browse steps—pilots are too strict or too soft.
- SOP versions and label templates change separately—acceptance can’t align them.
- Changeover day skipped in the pilot—old steps stay reachable after cutover.
How the system is implemented
- Survey critical steps, image sources, and screen placements.
- Pilot: WO loads current SOP → critical confirms → print.
- Acceptance includes changeover switch and version align; capability note on template-print-approval.
02 // On-site implementation
How we survey and pilot the line
On high-mix lines, consultants shadow a changeover: whether old folders remain, when the new SOP hits the screen, and when WIP labels are opened.
First wave gates only 2–3 high-risk steps; others stay browse-confirm to protect pilot takt.
03 // Implementation steps
From survey to acceptance
- Survey: product families, SOP library, screens, station label samples.
- Gate: critical-step list and “no confirm, no print.”
- Load: illustrated steps on screen by WO/product.
- Templates: approve station labels in LuckDesign; bind variables.
- Pilot: include one full changeover day.
- Cutover: roll station by station; retire paper copies.
- Accept: skip blocks, version recall, print history.
04 // Value outcomes
Consistency · Same SOP
No stale paper after changeover.
Gate · Steps before print
Critical incomplete → no print.
Fit · WI vs labels split
Process on screen; layout stays in Luck label software.
05 // End-to-end implementation flow
Survey critical steps → pilot SOP on screen → confirm → LuckDesign/LuckNext print → changeover cutover → accept
Share changeover pace and critical steps—we’ll plan an e-WI implementation.

How print connects to LuckDesign / LuckNext
Station print unlocks only after critical step confirmation: layouts stay in LuckDesign, release via LuckNext when needed; the SOP version can be included in print notes.

FAQ
Build SOP inside LuckDesign?
Not recommended—put illustrated work instructions on screens and keep label layouts separate.
Scan every step?
Configurable by risk—force confirm on critical steps; browse-only on others per process.
